Maevn Uniforms First Impressions Review!

by - June 27, 2017

Hi friends! I'm here with my first ever review! I received a pair of Maevn Uniforms scrubs during an awesome Instagram giveaway they were having during the month of March. They provided 1000 pairs of scrubs to the first 1000 Instagram followers who posted a photo in old scrubs explaining why they deserve some new scrubs, with the hashtag #MaevnMarchMania. Personally, I needed some new scrubs for med school and I was lucky enough to be one followers who received a pair. After I posted a photo of my new scrubs on Instagram, I got a few inquiries about the fit, so I'm here giving a in-depth explanation of my first impression on the line.
*Since I'm no expert on scrubs, I'm calling this post a "First Impression."
** Update July 2017: I have had the opportunity to try another brand of scrubs but all of my opinions on this pair of scrubs still stand true.**

Fit

Rating: 7/10

This review is for the Maevn Eon V-neck scrub top and Eon Waistband 7-pocket cargo pant. I ordered a size Medium in the top and a Medium Petite bottom. For the scrubs, I ordered according to their size chart, asking for a size Medium in the top and a Medium Petite bottom. For reference, I am 5' 2 and normally wear a size Large/10 in tops and Medium/8 in bottoms. You can view the scrub line here or you can purchase at your local scrubs supplier using their Store Locator feature here

These scrub pants fit nearly PERFECT. I have never worn a pair of scrub pants (any pants for that matter) that fit me as well as these. That might have sounded extreme but I have a very particular issue with the proportions of my lower body. To explain this without being too awkward... I don't experience any huge drop crotch or extreme cameltoe with these scrub pants! They sit perfect on my waist and doesn't look odd when the scrub top is tucked in. The only other pair of scrubs I've worn are hospital OR scrubs which are horribly not universal for every woman's figure, height, etc. I'm 5' 2, and those hospital scrubs need to be rolled, tightened, tucked -- anything to get it stay on my body and off the floor. The petite fit is just perfect for me because the length of the pants hit approximately 1.5" past my ankle and will raise when sitting, exposing your ankles. I don't recommend the petite for anyone over 5' 3. They also come in Regular and Tall pant lengths!

The only complaint I have is for the scrub top. I do have a large upper body and chest, and the fit of the top accentuates that a little bit. While the scrub top does fit comfortably, I have an issue with the length. There wasn't a petite option for the top and therefore, the top looks like it's too large for me. However, if I tuck the top in, there is no issue.

Style

Rating: 10/10

Who can resist that stylish waistband? I couldn't! Which is why asked for a pair of their EON scrubs in a beautiful Royal Blue color. Blue is my favorite color and these scrubs did not disappoint in its richness and sophistication.

The V-neck top has a feminine cut and flared style. The front stitching beautifully hugs the body and draws the eyes into an hourglass form. The top has two front pockets, perfect for holding some small essentials like chapstick, pens, etc. if I'm not wearing my coat. It also has a small pocket under the chest with a conveniently added key ring.

The bottoms have 7 pockets! I'm not sure what I would put in these pants but at least I have the options! The waistband adds that subtle sense of style while you wear these scrubs in the clinic or lab. There is also a cute adjustable ribbon bow that can add a bit of tightness should you need it.

Comfortability/Practicality

Rating: 9/10

These scrubs are super comfy with a good amount of stretch. These aren't pajama or leggings stretchy but they are as stretchy as a pair of workout pants. You can do a lot of movement in these scrubs without a tug (perfect for OMM labs). The material is actually considerably thick compared to the standard OR scrubs I've tried. They are a thick material but totally breathable. These scrubs also have "COOLMAX" fabric technology which keeps you cool and dry for those long, difficult days. If you've ever felt an "Adidas ClimaCool" cap or any cap meant for working out, that is what the material feels like!

I would definitely say they're practical! Lots of pockets, stretchiness, and stylish scrubs are all I ask for!

Price

Rating: 7/10

The price of this scrub set is well under $50. On AllHeart, an online medical retailer, the pants retail for $26.98 and the v-neck top is $21.98. There is usually a 10% discount code or affiliate code floating around so these scrubs are definitely affordable for the quality and practical use. Compared to other brands, they are slightly more expensive -- a standard scrub set could cost you around $15. However, I will say that I have seen some other scrub brands that cater to style and comfort that will cost you upwards of $70 for a scrub set.

Overall Thoughts

Overall Rating: 8/10

Maevn Uniforms provides a pair of scrubs with practical comfortability with personality at a reasonable price. I believe these scrubs look most like your standard pair of scrubs but with a slight difference in material and details that make all of the difference. I rate this line so high because of how confident I feel while I wear it. It's difficult enough for me to find clothes that fit me well, let alone a pair of scrubs. I previously thought I would just have to forgo body shape and style while wearing scrubs but Maevn has opened up my world to the possibilities. Seriously, these fit so nice and are so comfortable that I'll probably wear these outside of school around town or while I study.

Thank you so much to Maevn Uniforms for letting me have a pair of your wonderful scrubs! I love any company willing to give away that many scrubs to students and health professionals across the country!

  3. Gone are the days of dull and shapeless uniforms. Today, scrubs have undergone a remarkable transformation, combining fashion-forward designs with functionality and comfort. I bought one black Scrub from NU LUXE SCRUBS. The scrubs look great. I like that it has lots of pockets.
